The first thing people usually notice about Katja is her friendliness and enthusiasm. She loves to go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and she is known for her reliance and her determination to get to the heart of a story.

Katja is a trained historian and genealogist and has been helping people trace their ancestors ever since her college days in Ohio. As a passionate lecturer at German and Austrian universities, she has hooked hundreds of students to immigration history and has published widely.

Katja founded "My German Ancestors", because she wanted to share her enthusiasm and expertise with all those interested in discovering their German roots - i.e. YOU!
